Along for the Ride.

I know that there are a number of you who check in on us, who also have children with cerebral palsy, and I think you will find the essay below to be so beautiful and true - as well as intelligently written (although I hope that those of you who do not have children with CP and who choose to read this long essay, will also enjoy and appreciate the subject and style). The essay is from Brain, Child: The Magazine for Thinking Mothers and is entitled, Along for the Ride. I read it and said, "Yes, yes," and laughed and cried and laughed and cried. Thank you, Melissa, for thinking of us once again and for sending this our way.

Hi-
I saw your post on ReadySetMom. I was discouraged to find no responses for your inquiry. There is another Portland community based parenting website called urbanmamas.com. You might try asking there for suggestions as well. It has a strong readership. Best of luck!

That was a great article Stac. I also saw a documentary called "Beautiful Son" on PBS a few weeks ago that I wanted to share. http://beautifulson.com/ It's about autism, and it's one family's search for answers and their belief that high levels of mercury are affecting children with autism. They are using chelation (to pull out the heavy metals).
